At Running Africa, our editorial mission is to authentically amplify Africa's voices, stories, and sounds through accurate, engaging, and culturally grounded content. We are committed to producing media that celebrates African identity, sparks critical dialogue, and empowers the next generation of storytellers and creatives across the continent and its diaspora.
This Editorial Policy outlines our principles, content standards, and publishing process to maintain trust, integrity, and excellence in all we create.
1. Editorial Independence
Running Africa operates with full editorial independence. Our content—whether music features, news stories, cultural commentary, interviews, or visual media—is produced without undue influence from advertisers, sponsors, or external stakeholders.
We prioritize the interest of our audience and uphold transparency in any instance of sponsored or branded content, which will be clearly labeled.
2. Content Standards and Ethics
Our editorial team and contributors follow these core principles:
- Accuracy & Fact-Checking: All published material must be factually accurate and verifiable. Writers are expected to source credible information and correct errors swiftly upon discovery.
- Originality: We value original reporting, analysis, and storytelling. Plagiarism or unauthorized use of third-party content is strictly prohibited.
- Cultural Respect: Content must represent African cultures and communities with dignity, avoiding stereotypes, appropriation, or offensive generalizations.
- Balance & Fairness: We strive to present diverse perspectives, especially on complex or sensitive issues, while allowing room for creative and editorial interpretation.
- Transparency: Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed by editors, writers, and contributors. Sponsored content or promotional partnerships will be clearly marked.
3. Coverage Areas
We publish content under the following core verticals:
