Sudan: Over 40 killed in hospital attack including children
Over 40 people, including six children and five health workers, were killed in an attack that occurred at Al-Mujid Hospital in West Kordofan on Saturday, June 22nd.

The hospital is situated near the front line between two factions: the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Army.
The World Health Organization confirmed the attack and condemned the loss of life. Ghebreyesus wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

An independent legal team dedicated to addressing human rights violations, Emergency Lawyers, accused the Sudanese Army of attacking the hospital using drones.
The instability in Sudan began 2019, following the ouster of its long-serving president, Omar al-Bashir, and the subsequent military takeover.
Sudan plunged into war in April 2023 when the RSF, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, and the Sudanese army, led by General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, descended into a conflict in the capital, Khartoum.
The war has also pushed at least millions across the border into neighboring countries.
The United Nations claims that both sides have committed numerous atrocities that include ethnically motivated killings and mass rape, potentially amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
